Don’t blow your nose in public. It is seen as rude.
In villages, don’t whistle inside a house when invited as a guest, especially if an icon painting of Mary and baby Jesus are on the wall. Whistling indoors can be seen as disrespectful.
If you are someone's guest, don’t take the bottle and pour it yourself, a well mannered host is always looking at your glass and when empty will refill it. *
When drinking together at the table don’t just down it, wait until everyone's glass is raised, as it can be customary for the host to toast for something or someone before downing the shot. Wait until the host is ready to down it and down it with him/her.*
If talking English DON’T call the country “The” Ukraine. It is not just rude, but incorrect. It is Ukraine.
Don’t ask how someone is feeling or doing, as small talk. Only ask if you really want to know. Being genuine warm hearted people, Ukrainians don't like flippant insincerity or at best see it as lack of manners. Those kind of questions are reserved for people you know, not someone you just pass in the street. *
Other than the above, Ukrainians are very understanding people and very hospitable.
